Donation Requirements

Gray hair is accepted!

Non-chemically treated hair is preferred but any hair in good condition will be accepted!

Hair must be clean and dry, ponytailed or braided

New! Register your hair donation right here online! OR download a form to print

Donors are emailed a personalized certificate of appreciation!

Secure your cut hair with a rubberband or ponytail holder

Place dry hair in a ziploc bag and mail it to us

To donate, hair must be 8" or longer

Before we continue, can you spare more hair? Children with hair loss greatly appreciates all hair donations that are a minimum of 8″ however, we have many requests from recipients for longer hair replacements that require hair donations of 12″ or longer. If you can grow your hair a bit longer before donating, it will help us most in our mission!

Frequently Asked Questions

Children With Hair Loss requires a minimum of 8” for donations; anything below this length will not be used by the manufacturer during the production process.

At Children With Hair Loss, we accept color-treated hair as long as it is in "Good Condition" - meaning not dry or brittle.

Children With Hair Loss is delighted to accept grey hair donations!

Unfortunately, you will not be able to meet the recipient of your hair donation at Children With Hair Loss - we highly respect their privacy as they are minors.

At Children With Hair Loss, we provide customized wig packages to recipients annually - at absolutely no cost!

At Children With Hair Loss, it's not possible to donate to a specific child. However, we can create a certificate in honor of that child.

At Children With Hair Loss, each wig is $1500. To ensure the highest quality care for our recipients, we also provide customized care packages and training annually.

Children With Hair Loss does not have this offering at this time.

To be eligible for a hair donation or replacement, Children With Hair Loss requires documentation that only they are able to provide. Feel free to tell a potential recipient to visit our website for more information!
